How do I register for the conference?
Attendance at the CII Annual Conference is by invitation only and the invitation is not transferable. Invitations are automatically extended to CII member company representatives currently active in CII work.
You may register online if paying by one credit card for the entire amount. You will have to complete and submit a paper form if paying with more than one credit card, by check, or with a government purchase order. If you have not received an invitation by April 25th and would like to attend, contact Jewell Walters at jkwalters@mail.utexas.edu.
I would like to attend the CII Annual Conference. My organization is a member of CII, but I am not currently active in CII work. How do I or someone else get an invitation?
This conference is by invitation only and the invitation is non-transferable. However, requests for invitations may be submitted through your company’s Board of Advisors representatives. Contact CII at christi.buratti@engr.utexas.edu or (512) 232-3006 if you do not know the names of your representatives.
My organization is not a member of CII, but I would still like to attend the conference. How do I get an invitation?
Special invitations are extended to individuals from qualified prospective member organizations. If your organization is interested in CII membership, contact Jewell Walters at jkwalters@mail.utexas.edu or (512) 232-3005.
What does the attendee registration fee cover?

The fee for conference attendees (not accompanied by spouse/companion or children) is USD $1,075. This fee covers conference materials (including the conference Proceedings), a Chairman's Reception on August 5, the Welcome Mixer on August 6, a reception/banquet on August 7, and lunches, breakfasts and breaks from August 6– 7. This fee does not cover spouses, adult family members (18 years and older), or participation fees for golf or tours. After June 30, 2008 there is a late registration charge for a total of $1175.

What does the guest registration fee cover?
The fee for spouses/companions/young adults 18 years or older: is USD $250. This fee covers a Chairman's Reception on August 5, the Welcome Mixer on August 6, a reception/banquet on August 7, and lunches, breakfasts and breaks from August 6– August 7. This fee does not cover participation fees for golf or tours. After June 30, 2008 there is a late registration charge for a total of $325.
Is there an additional charge to attend the Welcome Mixer on August 1? Can I bring guests?
There is no additional charge if you are a registered attendee ($1,075) or a registered guest ($250). There is also no additional charge for children under 18 years accompanied by a registered adult.
Is there an additional charge to bring guest(s) to the Reception/Banquet on August 7?
You do not have to pay extra for yourself if you are a registered attendee ($1,075) or a registered guest ($250).
Can I use a major credit card to pay my registration and/or other participation fees?
Yes, we currently accept American Express, MasterCard, Visa, and Discover credit cards.
I would like to split my bill for the conference. How do I go about doing this?
You can only register online if you are using one credit card for the entire payment. Use the paper form if you have special billing instructions. On the form, select "Option 5: Special Billing" in the PAYMENT OPTIONS section and tell us exactly how you want like us to handle the billing. Be very specific and provide all pertinent information (e.g., credit card number(s), expiration date, amount to be applied to each credit card, etc.).
Will I receive a receipt for my prepaid fees?
Yes. If registering and paying online, you will have the option to print a receipt after check-out, otherwise, CII will send you an itemized receipt via e-mail or U.S. mail.
When is the latest date I can register for the conference?
To ensure that you get the options that you desire (e.g., guests, tours, golf, etc.), you are strongly encouraged to register by June 30. Registrations will be accepted after this date on a space-available basis.
How do I make a change and/or addition to my registration information?

Will I receive a refund if I have to cancel?
All cancellations must be made in writing via e-mail, fax or U.S. mail. Charges will be imposed for cancellations after the published deadlines. Registrations made without pre-payment by either credit card or check will also be subject to the same cancellation policy and will be billed accordingly. Attendees’ conference registration fees will be fully refunded if cancelled by June 30. Cancellations for guests, golf, and organized recreational events will be fully refunded if notification is received by June 30. No refunds will be issued after June 30. SUBSTITUTIONS are always allowed.
I require special physical, visual, or hearing assistance to participate in the conference. Whom do I notify?
If registering online,proceed to the ADDITIONAL INFORMATION page and specify your requirements. If registering by paper, specify your needs on the SPECIAL NEEDS section. Early notification is requested so necessary arrangements can be made.
I have special dietary preferences. How do I let CII know?

I am a CII academic and my travel expenses will be reimbursed. Are there any special restrictions?

Yes. You are requested to pay the registration fee up front and claim reimbursement with your other travel expenses. CII will only reimburse the special academic rate on a standard room (a maximum of five days, unless approved by CII prior to travel). Rooms reserved at higher rates, occupancy over five days (or less than five days if for personal use), or the use of more than one room will be the responsibility of the attendee. CII will not reimburse for spouse, recreation, and/or guest(s) fees.

Which hotel is designated as the official conference hotel?

There is not one hotel, as with prior conferences. The CII Room Block at The Keystone Resort includes one- and two- bedroom condominium suites (corporate), The Inn at Keystone (Government /Academic), and the studio suites. The Keystone Resort has received numerous industry accolades, including the Pinnacle Award, Gold Key Award, And Planners' Choice Award to name a few.

What types of rooms are available and what are the rates?

CII has negotiated the following special rates:

In order to make your stay more convenient, CII has made arrangements to cluster our room block around the Keystone Lodge and Convention Center. This will minimize the amount of travel time it will require our guests to get to the convention center and other facilities being used for the conference. We have also made arrangements to run a special shuttle bus service from the CII block of rooms to the convention center, etc. Please be aware that if you choose to reserve your accommodations outside of the CII Room block you will be unable to utilize these special conveniences.

Who qualifies for the CII government rate?
If you are currently employed by a government agency (federal, state, or city) or are an active member of the armed services and your travel expenses will be reimbursed by the respective agency, you qualify for the special CII government rate of $129 per night plus applicable taxes. If you are retired from a government agency or the armed services, you are not automatically qualified to receive the special CII government rate unless you are attending the conference on behalf of the respective government agency. However, you may still qualify to receive the hotel’s government rate. The hotel government rate is offered at the discretion of the hotel, based on availability, and may not be the same as the CII contracted government rate.
Who qualifies for an academic rate?
If you are currently employed by a higher educational institution and your travel expenses will be reimbursed by your employer, you qualify for the CII academic rate of $129 per night plus applicable taxes.
I qualify for an academic- or government-rated room. What identification is required upon check-in?
You will need to present proof of your academic or government status (e.g., ID card, credit card).
Whom do I need to contact about making a reservation?

What if I want to make a change to my hotel reservation?
Please visit our Keystone site for information regarding changes to hotel reservations.
What if I want to stay a few days before or after the conference?
No problem. Just make your reservations early and indicate your expected dates of arrival and departure. The Keystone Resort will honor the conference rates three days prior until three days after our event (August 3 - 10, 2007) on a space-available basis. Please add any dates to the 'Notes' field on the Keystone Reservation page, if they are not availble via the 'calendar dates' provided by the on-line calendar.
Is there an additional charge if there are more than two people in my party?
Each additional person occupying the same room over the standard occupancy (up to two persons per bedroom in multi-room suites) will be charged an additional $15.00 per night. Children under 18 stay free when accompanied by parent or guardian. Maximum occupancy may not be exceeded and additional beds will not be furnished.
What is the latest date to make reservations and still get the conference rates?
June 30, 2008. After that reservations may be made on a space available basis.
Does Keystone Resort require a deposit to guarantee a reservation?
Yes. A deposit of the first night's room and tax for each confirmed room reservation will be due at time of reservation.
What is the latest date when I can cancel my hotel reservation without losing my deposit?
Guest cancellations within 30 days of arrival are subject to forfeiture of full deposit amount. Individual guest cancellations outside of 30 days of arrival will result in return of deposit less a $25.00 processing fee.
Will I receive a confirmation for my reservation?
Yes. You will receive a confirmation directly from our Keystone reservation site to confirm your reservation.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is 11:00 a.m.
Is there a penalty for departing earlier/ arriving later than my confirmed date?
Yes, early departures will be charged an early departure fee of one additional evening from the actual date of departure. Late arrivals will be charged a late arrival fee of one additional evening from the actual date of arrival.
Keystone is spread out. Where do I go to check in?
For our group's convenience, Keystone has arranged a special satellite check-in. Upon arrival, proceed to the Keystone Conference Center to get your room assignment and keys. Resort staff will be available to help with baggage and assist in locating your room.
What amenities does the hotel offer with the contracted group rates?

  • A complimentary Keystone Passport: The Keystone Summer Passport program allows its guests over $500 worth of free activities for the duration of their stay. Activities include bus tours, tennis clinic, guided hikes, bike clinics, horsemanship, fly fishing and other activities.
Does the hotel offer internet service?
The lodge has wireless access and most condos have internet access available. The Keystone resort also provides a service called Stay online at the Conference Center that can access the internet with a credit card for $9.95/day.
What kinds of business services does the Hotel offer?

The Keystone Resort offers a business center that is open from 7 am-6 pm.

Has CII arranged for any special transportation between DIA and the Hotel?

YES!! CII has arranged for VIP shuttles to and from DIA and the Keystone resort for our special guests at our 25th Anniversary Conference. If you are arriving on Sunday, Monday or Tuesday you can join us and ride in comfort, learn more about CII, play games and win prizes while enjoying the beautiful scenery between DIA and Keystone. We have return shuttles leaving Keystone Resort on Friday, returning to the DIA, as well. Our CII party busses are provided at a discount from the commercial shuttles as well!

Which airport serves the Keystone area?
  • Denver International Airport.  Located just outside of Denver, the airport is 90 miles east of Keystone via Interstate 70.  DIA is a nonstop destination for over 21 national and international carriers.  Shuttles and car rentals are available at the airport, visit DIA Transportation.
  • Vail/Eagle County Airport is 65 miles west of Keystone.  Direct flights are available from:  Atlanta, Charlotte, Chicago, Cincinnati, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, Minneapolis, New York/LGA, Newark, Philadelphia.  Shuttles and car rentals are available at the airport.
Has CII arranged for any special airfare discounts?
No. Most corporations have their own travel agents and due to volume can obtain better rates and schedules.
Does the hotel have airport shuttle service?
How much is cab fare between the Denver Airport and the Keystone Resort?
Taxi service throughout Summit County is available from 2 p.m. - 2 a.m. daily. Rainbow Taxi can be reached at 970-453-TAXI
I plan to rent a car in Denver/Vail. How do I get from the airport to the Keystone Resort?
Is a rental car agency located at the hotel?

No, but most of the major car-rental companies are represented at the Denver International Airport and Colorado Springs Municipal Airport.

Also, Keystone has an excellent free intra-resort shuttle system. The shuttles normally run from 7:30 am - 10 pm and serve all areas of the resort. They are also available before and after normal routes to outlying resort areas not served by a route.

How much does it cost to park at the hotel?
Self-parking is complimentary. Valet parking is $10/car.

What is the conference dress for attendees?
“Comfortable and casual” best describes the dress code (sport shirt and slacks for men; casual dress or slacks for women). The only event that requires a suit and tie for men or business dress/suit for women is the formal banquet on Thursday evening.
I am presenting in the plenary session. What should I wear?
Plenary session presenters are requested to wear business attire (jacket and tie for men; suit or business dress for women), since these sessions will be videotaped.
I am presenting in an Implementation Session breakout. What should I wear?
Dress is business casual.
Welcome Mixer?
Dress is casual.
Reception/Banquet?
Dress is a suit or jacket and tie for men; business or after-five attire for women.
Small committee and/or team meetings?
Dress is business casual.
Golf?
Proper golf attire is expected (shirts with collars for men, no cut-off shorts, proper golf shoes, etc.).

Will any CII office equipment be available for attendees to use?
Yes. The CII Attendee Workroom will be available if you need to print a document or just check your e-mail. This room will be equipped with a personal computer (loaded with Microsoft software), Stations for laptops, a laser printer for personal computers, and a copier. Make yourself at home!

Can you help me lighten my luggage before I return home?

Send all that important conference “stuff” home by Federal Express and it will be waiting for you when you return. A shipping desk will be available near the CII Registration/Conference Desk on Thursday, August 7, from 1:00 – 5:30 pm.
 

GOLF

keystone golf courseWhen and where will the golf tournament be held? How much does it cost to participate?

The tournament is being held on Tuesday morning, August 5th. Please visit our Golf page for more information.

Someone else, besides myself or my spouse/companion, would like to play golf. Can they sign up?

Yes, providing there is space. First priority will be given to registered attendees and spouses/companions.

I have a special request for a golf foursome. Can you accommodate?

In most cases we can, so long as the average level of experience of your special foursome does not vary drastically from the average of the other teams. Make your request in writing to CII at calenig@mail.utexas.edu or calling (512) 232-3015.

Does the Course have a dress code?

Proper golf attire is expected (shirts with collars for men, proper golf shoes, etc). No denim, t-shirts or tank tops allowed (however women can wear one if it has a collar).

I need to rent golf clubs. Whom should I call?

Rental clubs will be available at $50 a set. Please call the Keystone Golf Course directly to reserve golf clubs at 1-800-464-4250.

I have metal spikes on my golf shoes. Does the Golf Club have a special rule against metal spikes?

Yes. Soft spike golf shoes only (no metal spikes allowed)

I need to cancel my golf reservation. Can I get a refund?

Full refunds will be issued only if notification is received by June 30. No refunds will be issued after this date, but substitutions will be accepted. Are any conference presentations open to registered guests?

Registered guests are welcome to attend any of the conference presentations of interest.

Can you recommend things for the kids to do and a good childcare agency?

The Keystone Children’s Center provides a variety of seasonal child care programs.  Our highly trained, professional staff ensures that each child gets personalized care and enjoys creative activities throughout their stay.  Located in Silvermill Plaza in River Run Village, it’s a safe, fun-filled environment for your kids. What kind of tours has CII organized for the conference?

How much does it cost to go on a tour?

The tours cost $30 to $145 per person, depending on which tour you choose. Visit the Tours page for more details.

Who can go on the tours?

Everyone is welcome. However, if you are registered to attend a committee/team meeting and/or the Annual Conference, be sure to check the meeting/conference schedules before signing up for a tour.

Do children have to pay to go on the tours?

Yes. There are fixed costs associated with each tour, regardless of how many people and their ages. For example, if the maximum seating on a bus is 47 people. Whether we have one person or 47 people, the cost of one bus remains the same.

I’m undecided about going on a tour. Can I sign up when I get there?

Yes, but only if there is space available. Some activities have size limits. You are strongly encouraged to register as early as possible to guarantee a seat on a specific tour.

I need to cancel a tour. Can I get a refund?

Full refunds will only be allowed if you cancel by June 30. No refunds will be returned after this time, but substitutions are allowed.

Where can I get information about the Keystone area?

The Summit Chamber of Commerce represents approximately 600 businesses in the towns of Breckenridge, Dillon, Frisco and Silverthorne, as well as areas around the County: Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Copper, Keystone, Loveland and Ski Cooper.

Summit County is a unique area that includes four world-class ski areas, beautiful Lake Dillon, and year-round fun family activities in the White River National Forest.
