Message from the Conference Chairman
Greetings CII Colleagues:
If you were of age in 1983, you might remember it as the year the Internet was born, music CDs and camcorders were introduced, and Sally Ride became the first American woman in space. It was also the year that CII began as a forum for developing and sharing better ways of planning and executing capital construction programs.
I look forward to commemorating CII’s 25th Anniversary during the Annual Conference from August 5 – 7, 2008 in Keystone, Colorado. We’ll celebrate our achievements and forge ahead with the conference theme of “Shaping the Future: Leveraging 25 Years of Industry Leadership.” This special program will highlight new research to help your company improve construction productivity, planning and value, as well as enhance and expand innovation.
Our guest speaker line-up includes:
- Dr. Richard Tucker, Founding CII Director
- Ted Kennedy, Co-Founder, BE&K, Inc.
- Billy Harper, President & CEO, Harper Industries
- Dr. Marianne Jennings, author and Professor of Legal and Ethical Studies, Arizona State University
- David Nash, President, BE&K Government Group
- Jan Tuchman, Editor-in-Chief, Engineering News Record
- Dr. James Canton, CEO & Chairman, Institute for Global Futures
- Dr. James Turner, Acting Director, US Department of Commerce / NIST
The conference will take place at the Keystone Resort, a popular mountain destination west of the Denver Airport that offers hiking, biking, fishing, trail running and the ambience of a quaint mountain village. Social events will include a golf scramble, the CII Chairman’s “Taste of Keystone” dine-around, featuring a variety of foods from area restaurants, the Welcome Mixer at the Keystone Mountain Resort, and the closing banquet. There are numerous spouse events to choose from to make the week complete.
From the beginning, CII has fueled progress in our industry. I hope you’ll join me at the 25th Anniversary Conference, where we’ll present methods and resources to help us continue shaping the future — in more and better ways — in the decades to come.
