Timothy Heffron

CII named Tim Heffron as an inaugural recipient of its Community of Practice Leadership Award. He was recognized for this honor at the 2016 CII Annual Conference in National Harbor, Maryland.

Tim Heffron is a 29-year employee with Lauren Engineers & Constructors. Tim is Senior Project Development Manager for Lauren’s Fabrication Division where he has been involved with strategy development and implementation of numerous modular projects.

After the 2012 Annual Conference, where Research Team 283 reported their findings on Modularization, Tim worked with CII and RT-283 members to reform the Modularization COP. Since that time, Tim and the MCOP have made great progress towards educating our industry towards practical application of the 283 recommendations, culminating in the publication of the follow-on Modularization Planning “Toolkit” and the designation of Planning for Modularization as the newest CII Best Practice.

Tim has offered a steady hand along the way, charting the course and completing the steps needed for rigorous validation required for the Best Practice designation. Tim remains active in promoting MCOP towards development of additional education and practical guidance tools, as modularization is increasingly recognized as a potential solution to a continued shortage of skilled craft in our industry.
