Tune in to watch RT-362 explain its findings and maturity model through a friendly competition called “Scheduling Feud”

While the Critical Path Method (CPM) has become the capital projects industry standard for scheduling, other industries are benefiting from new, more collaborative methods. How might the new methods be used with or as a replacement for the CPM method? RT-362 developed a Collaborative Scheduling Playbook, which will give project leaders the process improvement recommendations to reliably deliver safe projects to quality, within budget, and on schedule.

RT-362 defined Collaborative Scheduling (CS) as “a comprehensive process that aligns and engages stakeholders throughout the life cycle of the project in order to coordinate activities and resources to achieve its goal.” The team delivered three key findings:

  1. A maturity model for developing and implementing CS, which categorized 23 CS practices into five pillars and assigned these practices to three maturity levels (bronze, silver, and gold).
     
  2. Opportunities to prioritize actions and choices based on how they affect Key Performance Indicators, or based on the degree to which different practices help achieve higher maturity levels for CS.
     
  3. Recommendations for implementing CS, which the team based on CS best practices.
