Manufacturing and Life Sciences

Industrial facilities in the Manufacturing and Life Sciences (MLS) sector are related to pharmaceuticals, automobile and high-tech manufacturing, food/beverage, agriculture, pulp/paper, and consumer products.

The MLS sector committee brings together a group of companies whose primary purpose is to engineer, design, and build or revamp facilities that include a manufacturing process that produces a product to the market.

Current R&D Activity

How can the Manufacturing and Life Sciences sector develop a methodology for generalizing a long-lead facility with an undefined manufacturing process?

This research team expects to build upon the other work CII has performed (i.e., Fast Track, FEP planning, and modularization) and generate deliverables that would provide a methodology or tool for evaluating which specific parts of a project can be generalized to aid in the development of a flexible facility.
