Anirban Basu, Chief Economist – Chairman & CEO, Sage Policy Group

Anirban BasuAnirban Basu leads Sage Policy Group, Inc., a Baltimore-based economic and policy consultancy he founded in 2004. He serves the Chief Economist function for many organizations, including the Maryland Bankers Association and Associated Builders and Contractors. The Baltimore Business Journal named him one of the region’s 20 most powerful business leaders in 2010. In 2022, he entered the Daily Record’s Circle of Influence. Dr. Basu is the Distinguished Economist in Residence at Goucher College, where he teaches History of Economic Thought. He holds four graduate degrees, including a J.D. and a Ph.D.

Patrick Nelson, CEO, Loyalty Point Leadership

Patrick NelsonPatrick Nelson has a personal mission to inspire others and influence the future – a mission born out of his experience as a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. Nelson led soldiers during three combat deployments and earned a Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart, then transitioned from the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan to working in the NFL.

Nelson soon realized that, if he wanted to help leaders, he needed to equip himself. He became the inaugural NFL-Pat Tillman Military Scholar and earned a Master’s in sport management and transitioned to a role as a leadership development consultant, then earned a second Master’s in organization development. He facilitates leadership development programs for Fortune 500 companies down to small business owners in a variety of industries, helping to develop exceptional leaders and an inspired workforce that brings distinction to each company.

Michael Webber, Josey Centennial Professor in Energy Resources, The University of Texas at Austin

Michael WebberMichael Webber is a professor in the Walker Department of Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas at Austin. His expertise spans research and education at the convergence of engineering, policy, and commercialization on topics related to innovation, energy, and the environment.

Dr. Webber is the author of four full-length general interest books, two interactive textbooks, and more than 500 publications. His book Power Trip: The Story of Energy was the basis of an award-winning, six-part series aired on PBS. He was selected as a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and serves on the advisory boards for Scientific American and GTI Energy (an industry consortium formerly known as the Gas Technology Institute).
