The Vision to Action Hot List
Continuous improvement is the essential component of long-term success; however, opportunities for improvement are not always successfully implemented. IS-31 addressed the gap between development of a vision for organizational improvement and the successful implementation of that vision.
This research effort – based on literature reviews, surveys, interviews, and case studies – identified elements of organization, leadership, and communication that impact an organization’s ability to successfully implement new initiatives. The results of this research provide knowledge and tools which comprise a formal process for evaluating organizational readiness for implementation of a new initiative and transitioning from vision to successful implementation.
The first challenge for anyone seeking to improve existing paradigms within EPC organizations is to capture the imagination of executives, and the IS-31 team developed the short-form “Hot List” resource for this purpose (IS31-1, p. vi).
