Abstract
Since its inception in 1983, CII has developed a robust body of research to improve capital project performance. Building on RT-166 and its CII Best Practices Guide: Improving Project Performance Toolkit, which was designed to help organizations implement and assess CII Best Practices on large capital projects, RT-420 adapted and streamlined the approach for small- and low-complexity projects. The resulting Excel-based toolkit provides practical, customizable guidance and simplified templates that help owners and EPCs scale CII Best Practices to fit projects of varying sizes, enabling more effective implementation across all project phases and industry sectors.
