Implementation and Value of CII Best Practices

CII Research Team (RT-410) evaluated the value of CII Best Practices by measuring their implementation and impact across participating organizations and projects. Building on previous CII studies, the research developed organization-level and project-level surveys to assess the use and implementation of all 17 CII Best Practices and selected CII tools. Responses were used to calculate Best Practice scores on a 0–10 scale and to examine relationships between implementation levels and project performance metrics such as cost growth and schedule growth. The report presents descriptive statistics on Best Practice adoption, compares performance outcomes between projects with different levels of implementation, and analyzes the impact of individual Best Practices on project results. Findings are intended to help organizations benchmark their current practices, identify opportunities for improvement, quantify the value of Best Practices, and support strategic decision-making regarding project delivery and performance enhancement.
